ARC Business Solutions Inc. is currently seeking a Power Engineer Software Tester for an immediate opportunity in Calgary, AB.

ROLE:  Power Engineer Software Tester

MANDATORY:
 
  • A minimum of four years experience developing test cases/scenarios and coordinating system testing or user acceptance testing. A related technical degree or diploma, which focuses on systems development.
  • Experience as either an electrical or power engineer or engineering technologist
  • Execute system, integration regression, and user acceptance testing to ensure solutions meet specifications and quality standards.
  • Identify, document and track defects, and work with development teams to resolve issues in a timely manner.
  • Support test automation initiatives, including creating, maintaining, and executing test scripts.
  • Monitor and report on testing progress, results, and key metrics to project stakeholders.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives related to testing practices, tools, and methodologies.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with both the user community and IS&T.
  • Superior analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to recognize symptoms, diagnose causes and identify alternative solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to pay persistent attention to detail, while maintaining an overall view of the situation and the “big picture”.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask and meet the challenges of a fast-paced changing environment.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, Visio.
  • Hands-on project experience with at least one Test Automation and Test Management toolset on at least one enterprise level application development project would be considered an asset.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Decision-making ability and demonstrated leadership potential is essential.
  • Working knowledge of/experience with Project Management body of knowledge and software development methodologies would be beneficial.

OPTIONAL:
  • Membership in APEGGA
  • Experience in a distribution or transmission power utility
  • Experience with Common Information Model (CIM)
  • Experience in Utility Long term planning
  • Experience in Operational Technology or Electric Utility System Operations
