ARC Business Solutions Inc. is currently seeking a Power Engineer Software Tester for an immediate opportunity in Calgary, AB.
ROLE: Power Engineer Software Tester
MANDATORY:
- A minimum of four years experience developing test cases/scenarios and coordinating system testing or user acceptance testing. A related technical degree or diploma, which focuses on systems development.
- Experience as either an electrical or power engineer or engineering technologist
- Execute system, integration regression, and user acceptance testing to ensure solutions meet specifications and quality standards.
- Identify, document and track defects, and work with development teams to resolve issues in a timely manner.
- Support test automation initiatives, including creating, maintaining, and executing test scripts.
- Monitor and report on testing progress, results, and key metrics to project stakeholders.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives related to testing practices, tools, and methodologies.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with both the user community and IS&T.
- Superior analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to recognize symptoms, diagnose causes and identify alternative solutions.
- Demonstrated ability to pay persistent attention to detail, while maintaining an overall view of the situation and the “big picture”.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask and meet the challenges of a fast-paced changing environment.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, Visio.
- Hands-on project experience with at least one Test Automation and Test Management toolset on at least one enterprise level application development project would be considered an asset.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Decision-making ability and demonstrated leadership potential is essential.
- Working knowledge of/experience with Project Management body of knowledge and software development methodologies would be beneficial.
OPTIONAL:
- Membership in APEGGA
- Experience in a distribution or transmission power utility
- Experience with Common Information Model (CIM)
- Experience in Utility Long term planning
- Experience in Operational Technology or Electric Utility System Operations
